In 711, a Muslim Berber army crossed the Straits of Gibraltar from Morocco, North Africa, and defeating the spanish army,took the capital city, Toledo. The Moors populated Spain for over a thousand years, and the enormous wealth of Islamic learning and culture they brought with them in the fields of science, philosophy and music triggered the beginning of the European Renaissance. Realm of music present a programme of music inspired by this wonderful and enigmatic cultural mix.
